Verify

OK, that's it. THAT'S IT!! I've had it with that little "verify this word" box!! Are you kidding me? They stick a word in a little box and put X's thru it and wrap it around in circles and erase half of it and then.. when you type in what you THINK it says.. NOPE! WRONG! Try again. They give you another word that's even MORE cryptic! I hate those little boxes.

O, lucky one! I agree with you 100% (110% in "sports talk"). I always have the feeling that someone else is on the other end of the little verify this word box thingy--and that person is cackling in a demonic fashion and changing the word as quickly as I type it in. Squint, type, new word. Squint, type, new word. AUGH.

Have a lovely weekend, you!

I used to hate them too, but you know what I learned? There is a secret internet machine that is using us as computers to "translate" unscannable words from ancient manuscripts. Sometimes, the fussiness of it is not done on purpose, sometimes it's an actual photo of what the computer sees, and when you type it in it gets compared to what other people typed in for that same word, and if they all match up, it gets slotted into the master document and aids in the actual digitization.

Not in blogger, though. Those are just annoying.

(PS I am not making this up, I read it. I swear!)

humm.. now thats interesting... but if we ALL get it wrong? And suddenly some ancient text has the word titties in it?

Oooh! Let's stage a tittie revolt! Everybody, from now on, always type titties!

That really is kinda cool, and makes me dislike captcha's quite a bit less. Thanks again, ege!

Ha! Oh, me too!

Of course, you realize that the ultimate punchline to the post would have been for us to find, when we clicked through to comment, that you had set blogger to require comment verification. :-)

Lucky Day!

Michelle said that getting pooped on by a bird is good luck. Well, Halleluja! It's my lucky day!
