Florida bound

Michelle and i leave tonight for a few days of rest and relaxation in Florida with Michelle's mom. We're very excited! Sunshine is a rare commodity in San Francisco and i hear those Floridians have enough to go around. Not to mention that fresh orange juice i hear so much about! Michelle put in a special request for beer and her mom's famous ham dinner. So here is how i imagine Cecile and Ron will look when they pick us up at the airport. YUM!

tip jar

On Saturday we went to Green chili for tacos.. yummy tacos!! and the lady was so nice at the counter who took our order. Not like the nasty cafeteria lady. She asked questions about how I'd like my food prepared.. and smiled at me. I felt really well taken care of. They had a little tip jar by the cash register and i thought I'd repay her for the great customer service with a couple extra bucks. Right when i placed the money in the jar she looked away. She didn't see. She didn't know that i was being super generous! I wanted to take the money back out and wait until she looked my way to see my extravagant tip! But what if she turned back to me as i was taking OUT the money!? Ugh! I just walked away... my generous heart and gallant ways went unrecognized.

cafeteria lady

Every morning i go to the cafeteria to buy my coffee and orange juice. There's a really mean cafeteria lady who scares me. You have to be really quick or she gets mad at you for holding up the line. I've noticed that lately she's been saying, "Good morning. How are you?" I think she got in trouble for being so mean to people. But even tho she asks you how you are.. there's no expectation of an answer. I know what she's really saying is.. "Don't answer my question about your stupid life.. i dont care.. move on and get the hell outa my line."

I hate that cafeteria lady

tan.. or lack there of

I got a little tan from my weekend at the beach. I was looking in the mirror and noticed that i'm slightly darker everywhere but right under my chin. I never tan there. Its a family thing. If you're born into the family you come with one certain accessory... a double chin. Even the babies have them. So when the sun shines on my face.. the chins cast a shadow across my chest.

Doggy window

This weekend we went down south to Pismo to celebrate michelle's birthday. It was lots of fun. We did have one small hickup.. michelle rolled Banjo's head up in the window.

Baby workforce

Its a funny thing about living in the city. The kids going to school take the same public transit that the adults going to work take. And now that the little tots use those wheelie suitcases to carry their books.. its kinda hard to tell who's going to kindergarten and who's going to Charles Schwab. Everyone appears to have the same stressed out look.

On a side note, Michelle and Banjo and i are off on an adventure this weekend. Its Michelle's birthday and we're jumping in the car and driving down the coast to Pismo Beach. Hope the weather holds!

spare change

There's this guy who plays old timey music at the embarcadero muni station in the morning. I really like it. Makes me want to skip the rest of the way to work each day. Yesterday i didnt have any change to put in his little tip jar but today i felt around in my pocket and i had some! I proudly grabbed a fist full and dumped it in! As i watched the coins fall into the jar i noticed that what i thought was alot of money was really just a bunch of pennies and a nickel. ooooh. Ouch. That sucks. I think i gave him about 12 cents. The worst part is.. he watched me put the money in. He knows i'm the lame ass who gave him the pennies.

beachball

Since there was no football to watch this weekend (except for the probowl which is kinda lame) Michelle and I decided to take Banjo and our friend Jon's dog Dakota to the beach. Michelle is from Florida and i'm from LA so when the sun shines in the bay area we race to the shore! I brought Banjo's squeeker tennis ball for them to chase. Dakota is a big boy.. he has a good 20 pounds on Banjo and can outrun her. Each time I threw it Dakota would get there first and bring it back. Tail wagging. Well, this threw Banjo into a doggy fit. How dare I throw her ball to him! I'm a little slow sometimes and didnt realize right away that she was mad at me. Until I found myself in a hole. Each time I'd throw the ball for dakota she would dig and dig and dig right at my feet until finally I was in a hole. I guess she wanted to burry me. I learned my lesson.

depression

Well, the hangover from the glorious superbowl is over.. and now.. we must face the abyss of 6 months with no football. No waking up eagerly on sunday mornings to watch boomer and the boys on espn dissect every aspect of the game. No hanging out with friends on monday nights with a nice cold beer and the game booming from the corner of the bar. No wearing team jerseys on the bus. No yelling and fighting and lifting middle fingers at apposing team's fans. Oh how will i get thru the off season? I can't bear it.

sweater

I've been noticing Michelle likes to wear my green sweater. But its a little too big for her.. even for a baggy sweater. It was mysteriously shrunk in the wash.
Now its hers.

Lucky Day!

Michelle said that getting pooped on by a bird is good luck. Well, Halleluja! It's my lucky day!
